Black History Month
At George Mason University, Black History Month programming coordinated and co-sponsored by the Office of Diversity Programs & Services seeks to provide relevant and responsible educational events and initiatives that highlight the rich and diverse contributions of people of Black/African heritage around the world. The programming developed out of the ODPS seeks to generate interest and sustained critical discourse on the issues affecting the Black/African heritage Diaspora.
To this end we strive to invite entertainers, artists, pundits, and musical acts that enrich the campus experience at five levels:
1) the Intellectual
2) the Social
3) the Cultural/artistic
4) the Spiritual and
5) the Physical (health)/ Leisure(fun)
