Charles Kellom

Charles Kellom is the Assistant Director for Black/African Heritage Student Affairs, and the newest member to the ODPS Staff. His primary responsibilities include coordinating programs and services that support students’ personal, professional, cultural and leadership development; offering supplemental academic support; advising numerous student organizations; and coordinating the campus-wide Black History Month Celebration, as well as the Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities.

Prior to coming to George Mason, Charles worked at his alma mater, the University of Dayton, as the Area Coordinator for Stuart Hall. He also worked closely with their Office of Diverse Student Populations to support, advise and retain African-American undergraduates.

A life-long learner, Charles earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in English. He received both degrees from the University of Dayton in 2005 and 2007 respectively.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Charles is excited to become active in the DC metro community through service and civic engagement. He is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
