Calvin Haney
Mr. Calvin Haney is the Assistant Director for Black/ African Heritage
Student Affairs, and a senior diversity trainer with the GMU National Coalition Building Institute chapter affiliate.
Mr. Haney is responsible for the development of programming and curriculum that address the development needs for students of Black/ African heritage. He seeks to bring awareness and deliberate language to the GMU student population that inspires Black/African heritage students to merge their common interests; academic, political, social, etc., throughout the African Diaspora. Mr. Haney is committed to helping students develop a healthy cultural identity to increase self-esteem which encourages greater academic success. He also continually works to engage students in leadership development opportunities that challenge and stimulate them to develop skill-sets and conceptual frameworks centered on community development.
Mr. Haney is a graduate of both an undergraduate and graduate program from George Mason University. He has work as a student leader, advocate, trainer, and leader in the GMU Black/ African heritage community since 1999.
