Arling Cofresi

photo of ArlingArling Cofresi is the Assistant Director for Hispanic/Latino Student Affairs, and Director of the Student Transition Empowerment Program (STEP) at George Mason University.

Ms. Cofresi advises student organizations and groups such as: the Hispanic Student Association (HSA), the Mariposas Mentoring Program (MMP), the Aguilas Mentoring Program (AMP), and the Diversified Student Leaders Association (DSLA). She also organizes the annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at Mason.

Ms. Cofresi advocates for diversity and inclusion of Hispanic/Latino students, assists in providing vision and leadership for a wide range of diversity programs and services at Mason, and advises on practices related to managing campus-wide diversity as an educational resource. She focuses primarily on student development, recruitment and retention of Hispanic/Latino students, diversity and multicultural education, and overall student success.

Prior to joining George Mason University, Ms. Cofresi worked at the University of Connecticut-Storrs, and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
